What "Medicine" Means Here
The word "medicine" in this site's name is an editorial register — the measured, instrument-of-record stance a publisher takes toward a clinical literature. It is not a claim that this site practices medicine, dispenses a drug, or stands in for a prescriber. There is no clinic, no pharmacy, no consultation, and no prescription behind this domain.
Bremelanotide is a real prescription drug for one approved indication. That is a clinical decision made between a person and a licensed prescriber. This site exists one step removed from that: it summarizes what the published studies and the FDA label report, so that the record is legible. The distinction is deliberate and we state it plainly.
How We Handle the Evidence
Every quantitative claim on this site is cited to a source on the study references page — a trial, the FDA prescribing information, a mechanistic study, or a published review. We separate two things on purpose: cited clinical evidence, and clearly-labeled community field reports. The first is logged with its citation; the second is fenced into a distinct, explicitly-unverified aside and never mixed into the cited record.
We also flag caveats rather than hiding them: a disputed study carries its Expression of Concern, a critical re-analysis sits beside the endpoint it questions, and a press release is marked as development-status-only. An honest digest of a contested compound shows the contest.
